MOROCCAN IMPERIAL CITIES

Program

DAY 1 – CASABLANCA

Arrive at Mohamed V Airport. You will be welcomed by our Staff from El BAHI Voyages. Transfer to your hotel check in at the hotel and dinner. 

DAY 2 – CASABLANCA – RABAT – FEZ

After breakfast, leave to visit the Hassan II Mosque one of the world’s biggest mosques.  The group will then head to Fez. Enroot, we will stop at Rabat, the capital city and residence of the King.

Visit the following places:

  • Hassan Tower: a remnant of an old great mosque
  • Kasbah Ouddaya

From Rabat you will continue your journey to Fez. Check in at Hotel.

 DAY 3 – FEZ

The whole day will be devoted to discover the oldest of the Imperial Cities. You will experience fantastic sights and unique smells as you tour this city of knowledge, which had its golden age during the reign of the Merinides in the 14th century. Visit the old medina and walk through its 1000 year old street. You will visit:

  • the medieval Medina with its different souks
  • Royal Palace
  • Mellah (Jewish quarter)
  • The Nejarine Fountain,
  • The Moulay Idriss Mausoleum; the founder of Fez
  • The Qarawiyyin Mosque/University, the oldest university in the world.

Leave Fez after lunch via Ifrane for a short stop. You will head for Midelt through the spectacular snow-capped High Atlas Mountains and the cedar woods of the Middle Atlas, passing by Azrou an important handicraft centre specialized in the work of cedar wood. Enjoy the enchanting Mountain View along the way. After the Zad pass (2,178m) you arrive in Midelt, dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 – FEZ/MARRAKECH

After breakfast, you will then head to Marrakech. Lunch on the way (not included).

Arrive at Marrakech; check in at the hotel and diner.

 DAY 5 – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, the whole day will be devoted to the sightseeing of Marrakech, the red city which is nested at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and the second oldest Imperial City “Pearl of the South”, founded in the 11th century by the Almoravid Dynasty.

The visit includes:

  • the Bahia Palace and gardens, where you will see Moroccan architecture at its peak,
  • The Badi Palace, a remnant of an incomparable palace,
  • Koutoubia Mosque, with its minaret dominating the Marrakech skyline,
  • The Ramparts enclosing the medina,
  • The handicraft market
  • The famous Jamâa El Fna square. Personal discovery of the place, with its snake charmers, its monkey’s tamers, its storytellers, its jugglers, etc.

The tour will end at Jamaa El Fna square. You will have free time for personal exploration and shopping. Dinner and accommodation à the hotel.

DAY 6 – MARRAKECH/OURIKA Valley

After breakfast, excursion to Ourika valley. The fertile nature, the splendid colors and the advantage of the oueds (rivers) gave her nickname of “happy valley” offering you beautiful scenery of snow capped mountains against the green lush of the valley. Optional Mountain trekking for the energetic ones.

You will be treated lunch at a traditional Berber house. At 3 pm we will head back to the hotel.

 DAY 7 – MARRAKECH

Breakfast at the hotel.

Day at leisure for shopping or relax at the hotel.

 DAY 8 – MARRAKECH

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Mohamed V airport. Depart on flight.
